If the bristles are already frayed, then it may be time to change them. In choosing a brush it is important to pick something that can get in your mouth easily and does not harm your gums.

Most people just go to the dentist when they need to have their tooth cleaned or pulled. However, visiting a dentist is not just about your teeth. What goes on in your mouth can affect the rest of your body. Many diseases and conditions can affect your oral health.

If you have a dental infection, it will get worse if your immune system is weak. Taking medicine will also affect what is happening in your mouth. One simple comparison is having bitter taste when you are taking a medicine. Some pills can also cause drying of your mouth. This may further lead to an infection and increases the risk of tooth cavity.

It is important to be orally clean since it may also affect any medical condition that you may have. A diabetic blood sugar level can get disrupted with a mouth infection. Further studies are also made, to see if a gum disease increases the risk of having medical problems, like kidney and heart problems.
